I found a couple maps at our Creative Reuse Center.
I remembered how one of my professors mentioned that she is using a calendar to have her students log a daily drawing. Hmmm inspiration seeded?
I couldn't help but notice how the the counties are neatly sectioned off on the maps, much like a calendar. I liked the idea of a daily drawing journal and wondered how a daily entry would look on the map. What colors would I use, what media, how would I incorporate the map lines?
This map has distinct uniform sections but what could be done with a Pittsburgh map where nothing is uniform? Would the lack of structure allow more creativity? Would I use a series of bubbles, or trace some roads to create a structure to implement the daily drawings?
I've started with the initial well structured map and will see where it takes me. Who knows, maybe it will lead me to Pittsburgh?
